EXPERTISE SUMMARY

Raslan is the Chairman of BDO Malaysia. He is also the President of Insolvency Practitioners Association Malaysia (IPAM) and a member of Corporate Debt Restructuring Committee, Bank Negara Malaysia.

Raslan was previously the Managing Partner of KPMG from 2010 to 2013 and an audit partner from 1994 to 2018. He has over 23 years of experience in the audit of large multinational corporations in various industries such as oil and gas, Islamic banking, palm oil, industrial products, energy & utilities and telecommunications, amongst others. He also has experience in the restructuring of a public listed company in the energy sector. Prior to KPMG, he was in Touche Ross & Co in Melbourne, Australia and shortly after in the Petronas Group Corporate Finance department.

During his tenure at KPMG, he was involved in setting up the Management Assurance Services Division which provides services such as Enterprise Risk Management, key internal controls review and value added internal audit. As audit partner, he was also involved in the role of reporting accountants for clients specialising in industrial products, property and development and utilities, as well as due diligence and valuation for companies in the areas of logistics, finance and investment.

Raslan has been an independent financial advisor to lenders and/or shareholders on restructuring schemes. He has also been involved in corporate finance work such as mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, rights issue and other special issues of companies listed on Bursa Malaysia. He has vast experience in transaction services and was involved in several major due diligence reviews and valuation of companies across various industries. Finally, he has also been the liquidator, receiver & manager, and special administrator for multiple engagements.

Raslan is the former Chairman of the Malaysian Accounting Standard Board (MASB). He was also in the Interpretation Committee, the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) Convergence Committee and the Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standards (MPERS) Implementation Committee of MASB. Raslan has previously served as Vice President of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), Council Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Chairman of Investigation Committee and Disciplinary Committee of MIA and Treasurer of Transparency International Malaysia.
